Position Title: Part-Time Receptionist

Department: Administration

Hours:

  • Saturday: 10:30 am – 8:00 pm
  • Sunday: 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • Monday: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm (Monday hours are temporary and subject to change based on business needs.)(Overtime pay provided in accordance with California labor laws.)

Compensation:

$17.00 per hour, plus applicable overtime pay as required by California law (1.5× after 8 hours and 2× after 12 hours in a workday).

Position Summary

The Receptionist provides general office support with various clerical activities and related tasks. This position is responsible for answering and directing incoming calls, greeting customers and visitors, managing correspondence, and performing general administrative duties to support the dealership’s daily operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the company directory.
  • Create sales team schedules and distribute them to department heads.
  • Track and record daily attendance for various departments.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls to the appropriate person or department.
  • Take accurate messages, including caller’s name, time, reason for call, and return number.
  • Provide general company information such as address, directions, website, and contact details.
  • Receive and route deliveries (UPS/FedEx, etc.).
  • Greet and assist visitors in a professional manner.
  • Manage test-drive vehicle plate assignments.
  • Review and prepare Repair Orders and Parts Counter Tickets for scanning.
  • Record monthly sales call data for submission to the General Manager.
  • Assist with after-hours customer pickups and log lost IDs or driver’s licenses.
  • Keep the reception area clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
  • Provide other clerical assistance to the business office as needed.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and courteous demeanor at all times.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous reception or administrative experience preferred but not required.

Skills

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate a computer and multi-line phone system.
  • Ability to read and interpret standard office documents and procedures.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, type, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
